“Do you have an SM Advantage card?” is almost always a question I receive whenever I check out at the cashier. And my automatic answer was always “none”.
Well, those days are over because I finally gave in and got myself one.
What is an SM Advantage card?
Simply put, the SM Advantage card is a loyalty rewards card where one can earn points in exchange for shopping perks. Members of this ‘club’ are also treated to exclusive discounts and promos, not just for SM brand stores, but also across all the SM group-operated retailers. They have a lot!

How to get an SM Advantage Card?
You can go to any SM department store customer service desk. Just fill out the application form, pay the processing fee (P150), and you can get your card the right away. You can also submit an application form online, which is what I did.
It took me a while to get an SMAC because I didn’t feel like paying outright for the card. I was waiting for a promo where I would be given the card for free or at least with a bonus. So, the advantage of getting your card online, is 50 instant bonus points!
Let’s do the math. On the average, a P200 purchase earns you 1 point. That means I just saved myself a whopping 10-grand worth of purchase!

Online application automatically registers your SMAC file for online access; to check points balance, and such.
After email verification and payment, you will need to print out the transaction receipt. You may claim the actual card at any SM department store customer service desk. Unfortunately, no mail option for this. Be sure to bring your receipt upon claiming the card.
